I'm looking at bringing the Plano AW 42" single rifle case back from the US, I don't really need it but I can use it to stick some extra shooting stuff in and claim my free 23Kg "sporting goods" luggage allowance :)

There's room for all Gods creatures, next to the mash and gravy :)
Re: Need recommendations for a rigid gun case
Thanks chaps
I am looking to spend less than £60, pretty sure I'll get a case that matches the SIG522 case in quality. I used that case for about 5 years and it was fine.
The nearest I can see is this Flambeau case:

One thing I need to verify, is what the dimensions of the SIG case are, as I stupidly did not measure it before I sold it!

I will say that I have been buying Plano products for many years - mainly fishing related and have found them to all be good quality and value for money.
They have a vast range on their website: www.planomolding.com/

Just ordered the Flambeau single gun case from Amazon.
I'll let you guys know what I think of it after I test it.

Re: Need recommendations for a rigid gun case
The Flambeau case arrived and so far I am very happy with it. It is better than the SIG case, I have decided. It is a bit roomier because it does not have a recessed handle. With the SIG case I had to transport my R55 Benchmark upside down. Whereas with the Flambeau it fits properly, the right way up:

Also, on my way to the range today, the case was unintentionally tested. I took a spill on the driveway leading to the clubhouse. I had the case (empty) in my right hand and I went down hard, landing on both knees, left hand and on the case. The case took most of my weight (which is 100kg of the finest South African muscle and lard, in a 60/40 distribution). There's no sign of damage other than a minor scuff mark on the bottom of the case.
For the money, I couldn't ask for more!
