nice to do but no practical use that I can think of ?
Wasn't it originally an "Alaskan bear" cartridge & a general big game one in the US ?
A French friend (*) has a SW 500. We nickenamed it "the Kaboom". Actually, it has all sort of practical use. It is very good at attracting the crowd, starting conversations, taking the P*ss at who ever tries or refuse to try it . It is also good if you are bored of the Desert Eagle 44 and for the middle-age old farts we are, it is very mildly good to try chating-up the very few girls in the club .
Not much else, but, at small dose, it is really super fun :good:

(*) for those who were in Prague last June, without any surprise, Jean-Yves is the owner O:-)

I'm there next week for Shot Show.

Battlefield is good, get the early bird (pre 9am) and its 20% off, worth it just for the SAW.

True but not if a hunter is already carrying a lighter rifle, for its intended game, that will not stop a bear charging . A colleague did a unaccompanied & unsupported race to the north pole and each team was issued with 12 gauge pump action rifle.
Anyway, granted, I certainly wouldnt buy a 500 but it's fun to shoot one.
