Yes but barrel cannot be sub 6" while chambered - even for a few secs before welding on the mod to bring it back up to 12"waterford103 wrote:How about a permanently attached sleeve to achieve the legal length and a suppressor that screwed onto the barrel within the sleeve .
However, I just MAY have a solution - a guy who has ( apparently ) taken a 12" barrel, threaded it but instead of just 1" of threading at muzzle, he threaded 6" of the barrel. Then he screwed an empty / stripped mod on and welded it. He then ( and this is the time consuming bit ) used some sort of drill bit type machine tool to remove the 6" threaded portion entering from the open end of the mod. He then replaced the baffles and end cap.
So, the overall length remained 12" at all times. This has come third hand from a RFD who heard of it being done years ago.
Have to take some advice as to whether it IS actually possible to machine WITHIN the confines of the already fitted mod...........
If is IS possible, it would allow this sort of configuration on an existing barrel rather than starting from scratch with an unchambered blank as Lantac does.
