Who said anything about circumnavigating laws, licenses or taxes?
Some people may read the text on the linked page "Get around shipping restrictions once and for all." and read that to mean the restrictions such as ITAR and EAR, or they may believe that the items that they wish to import are not covered by such regulations.
I am sure that such a service can be useful as long as you are aware of the various regulations - I made no comment regarding avoiding taxes.
So, I say again be aware of the laws and abide by them, that way there is no issue.

Large businesses in the USA are aware of the laws as pointed out in the posts above. Many of the smaller businesses just decided not to export at all never mind the item, be it a set of grips or a holster. This is where a service like this might be of use for non ITAR restricted items. I admit that with the tightening of restrictions there are times I feel like giving up especially when it comes to some items such as Sights and Sighting aids. On packages coming to the UK from outside the EU you have to remember to add VAT and the Post Office charge, about £9 which is high especially on for 1 small low value item, so consolidation might make sense in such a case.

I travel out to the US a couple of times each year, what sort of shooting related products are worth picking up? I got some bore snakes for my shotguns last time. Would really like yo bring a gun back, but the paperwork sounds a right ball ache.
