I think NFU varies a lot - if you have a local office it seems fine. I had been sent a mail shot a few weeks ago so rang them up. At first I was told they nolonger covered my post code. When I explained I had received a letter a few weeks back they then decided they would look at cover. Took 25 minutes just to get buildings and contents details sorted and then I mentioned guns and she wanted details of individual firearms at which point I said forget it, I feel this is going to be expensive. B&C alone was £70 more than existing cover. Found the same when I tried them for truck insurance.

Been back to Direct Line, tweaked the policy cover, guns covered inside house no problem, outside they are classed as personal possessions away from home and are fine as long as individual value does not exceed £2500.

It was reminiscent of that viral clip a couple of years ago, Fenton chasing the deer in Richmond park! Damn dog went off like poo through a goose, last seen disappearing over the brow of the field. I went off home to get my bike to go searching but before I could get it out of the shed she was panting, steaming and bleeding next to me!
Oh how I laughed when the vet said 'keep her immobile for a couple of weeks' -not a chance, she even runs in her sleep!
