I know several RFDs who work from home with no business address.

Also if you own your property freehold you cannot be prevented from running a business there as long as it doesn't contravene planning regulations. Years ago developers would state in deeds that no business could be carried out at the property (except sometimes doctor or dentist) but this has been ruled unfair in the courts and in any case the developers are probably not interested in enforcing it (assuming they still exist).

I know quite a few who operate from their own houses! Go for it.

The only restrictions on the new workshop are no gambling or boxing, no mention of firearms :) This is stipulated in the Deeds as opposed to by the local council.

We originally operated from our home in Bedfordshire. We were/are full time RFDs from day one so this might have a bearing although I doubt it. Bedfordshire licensing made it very clear to us that we had to be a viable business as opposed to a means of keeping ourselves and mates in cheap reloading kit. Our business model supported our plans and they were happy.

Thats it. But most forces are wise to idea of just getting cheap kit but they arent banks either, the business plan is designed to just show you're thinking about it as a business thats all. Security is the issue, we now have a lot, but its needed.
