Perhaps target was answering the call of nature?!! Try running with your trousers around your ankles!!

It certainly would be interesting to get the full facts of the incident with regards ballistics, holdover etc. Perhaps they have a 'super LR system'? Perhaps we should not know!!

Well, speculations are running wild on other forums,so far I managed collect something like this:

Elevation...... + 230-300moa(some said up to 400...)
Corioliss efect.....up to 10moa, depends from azimuth
Wind,no wind.......2-5.5moa
Velocity at target......around 275m/s
Energy at target.....1700J(point blank ak47....sort of...)
Bullet subsonic from 2400m

At this distance comparison to sporting target....black circle is 2-3m and v-bull less then 0.5m?
So,maybe it was covering fire and he just got lucky....maybe....
Other thing-optics,what reticule?at this distance even finest cross will obscure the target,but maybe good spotter can sort it out?

Assuming a x25 mag scope was used, the mirage must have been pretty crazy too!

Good Effort! Some serious skills and knowledge of the Rifle and calibre. Certainty some small element of Luck involved here as well with that Flight time.

Probably some serious teamwork with a spotter as well, the previous record (Craig Harrison) apparently took 9 shots before getting on target.

Of course, we are all assuming a traditional bullet was used here. Could it be that self-guiding 50 calibre bullets are being used in the field i.e. the Exacto bullets?
