Also Protonmail (A Swiss set up, encrypted??) for a new email service since Yahoo is now owned by Verizon and sharing everyone's life with the CIA / FBI and anyone else with a few quid to spare.
Protonmail is very basic unless you want to pay more but it's Swiss so should work. Signing up seemingl takes seconds, no need for phone numbers, second email addresses and all that other nonsense.
Zoho Mail is seemingly another alternative to gmail/GMX/Yahoo etc.
From what I can see from here there's a LOT of censoring going on (apart from the local mass paranoia carry on here) with the likes of google, facbook and twitter - basically it's now all about what THEY like.

I set up a Proton mail account last Christmas. So many shops were asking for my email address for a digital receipt so I figured I give out that email address since I didn't intend to use it for anything else. I couldn't believe the spam I got after the first two shops, really does go to show how valuable your privacy is to them!
