Second treatment with bleach this morning then left in the sun, seems to be much better.
Put a couple of coats of ballistol on it (yes that stinks too you are right) and will leave it out overnight to air.
I am thinking of getting the whole gun refurbished at some point, its in great condition but it would look amazing with a proper going over so might leave it at that for now till the winter and see if I can find someone to give it a proper strip down etc.
