So if a HO rifle club set up their own miniature rifle range on the premises then they could own and loan out LBPs to members? 8-)

So my take on all this is they probably need to pop the LBP away and stick to the .22 Sturmgewehr replicas!

Unfortunately, s11(4) states;

“no firearms are used other than air weapons or miniature rifles not exceeding ·23 inch calibre”
Ah, my mistake. should have had some coffee this morning... teanews

As a HO club?

No

As a range owner?

Yes :)

But we don't use the LBP for the reason that the miniature rifle range exemption only covers rifles and secondly in wouldn't want an untrained person shooting one, muzzle angled are too great.

If you don’t mind me asking, how? s16 instead of s15 of the 88 Act?

S16 has been replaced by PCA2017, S130(2)b is the relevant part.

S16 of the 1988 FA has now been supplanted by S130 of the Policing and Crime Act and specifically states 'rifles and shotguns' so it couldn't be used as an exemption either

The whole thing is a massive mess. I still think theres a load of people with now off-ticket 'firearms' in the form of receivers that had been sold to them as 'accessories' but are now 100% licensable items by S125 (1)(c) and (1D) (b) of the Policing and Crime Act. In fact i know of a well known retailer thats STILL selling receivers without the buyer having to have a slot on their FAC 5mith
