I posted a variation in to Kent police for a 1 for 1 variation so i can pick up a purchase from Holts.
Hopefully all goes well and ill have it back shortly.
As the OP said its hard to justify a purchase when you might not get to use it this year-i only made some very low bids based on getting a good deal-probably wont be buying anything else this year (i only had one chance to shoot my new lbp before lockdown and there is no signs of my local indoor range reopening)

They've definitely improved their act.

Variations etc fairly quick in the south west. They have had an awful lot of new applications apparently. Not sure if that's for rifles or shotguns.
I quite fancy a lighter, prettier 308 so will be testing the Devon & Cornwall variation dept fairly it soon.

My variation with Kent took 2-3 weeks from popping it into the post and it arriving at my door.
Though i believe Kent are only doing renewals and variations at the moment. no new grants(which seems to be the case with a few police forces from what i have seen.

I recently put in for variations with West Mercia that only took 3 days from me posting it to getting it back and did a socially distanced face-to-face that was a very pleasant experience
