But, at the time SGC's product was the best of the genre, so because of this, I took it on the chin. You never know, once the "legalities" of it all is more firm, another company may try their variation on the theme.
I will never buy another rifle from SGC. Bob probably doesn't want my custom either, but I'm happy with that.

Most forces are comfortable with the lever release rifle, but one or two will actively discourage, and that maybe a slight understatement, any variations for this firearm. One southern/ one northern force. I keep hearing conflicting views on the ACPO FELSG position though so, I am not in a position to comment further

CAUTION: GUN PORN ALERT!

Don't forget to put some plastic over your keyboard

Before i go any further, i have to object to the hyper-homosexual name of 'The Unicorn', its the LRA9 (Lever Release Action 9mm), and thats that!!! :evil: :lol:

Quite a few questions there;

There are only 2 Mk's of the gun that i'm aware of, the Mk1 which i have which has a standard AR upper and the Mk2 which has the dedicated upper (its angular instead of rounded and has a smaller ejection port - which is good when you're shooting it cack-handed as the blast/particles that come out of the much larger ejection port are not pleasant :? ). The later Mk2's also have larger lever's which i want on mine but owing to past experience with SGC i'm not willing to send my gun away. The Mk6 reciever is something that SGC made themselves and has been put on their AR-15's for at least 4 years. I've stopped following SGC though so more updates may have come out.

I've had 3 rifles from SGC, including the LRA9 and have to agree with Cj10 with regard to their customer service. It is infact a testiment to their products that they are still in business DESPITE their customer service!

The only reason i can see why Uzi mags were used is because they're dirty cheap and plentiful in supply. I've moved on to use the CProducts mags which are 1/3 the price of SGC's modified (and often second hand) mags, including P&P, import tax and Parcelfarces release charge. :good: The mark up SGC charges is nothing short of astronomical as Uzi mags can be bought in bulk at around $100 for 10, where as SGC is charging (last time i asked) £45+VAT+P&P each :x

The Cproducts AR mags do not however like steel cased (Wolf) ammo, as it binds to their baked finish. My gun doesn't like them either so i'll not be buying anymore of that, despite the cost saving. Speaking of ammo i've only used factory stuff and mine does not like 147gr bullets = 2-3"@20m :shock: 115gr gives a clover leaf @20m and 1-1.5" at 100m 8-)

I have mine zeroed at 20m (the length of my indoor range) and that happily is the exact same zero for 100m :D I shoot it at closer range for gallery rifle comps but i just aim off for that.

Pete Starly of Midway UK can order the gun for you if you want to avoid contact with SGC.

Arrgghh, I sooo want one but would love to see how it performs over a T&P 1 @ 25yds. Would hate to sell the Marlin if the LRA9 couldn't match it for accuracy.

Good point RM but the regional comp we have up here has no classification so I could throw the cat amongst the pigeons :-P

I might ditch the RM 10/22 for a Raven and that would give me enough room to keep the Marlin and a 9mm, or I could buy a bigger cabinet? ;)
