[quote="Polchraine" but still exclude them (as originally started) from GOM &c until they are showing themselves to be sensible. Once a day, access that forum and decide who will be allowed in, and delete all other posts and users.[/quote]
I think GoM does very well excluding people on its own merits, some of the content just drives members away.

I suspect that it will always be a problem with the poachers spending squillions in order to stay ahead of the gamekeepers.
I have just deleted a host of spam, puportedly from a facebook contact on a 'private' forum on facebook which I only use for a ship's re-union purpose.
Thnkfully, this forum has very capable and willing gamekeepers

can we get rid of "GOM" please]
ill even give reasons for this
it just takes every thing away from what i understand to be a dedicated shooting forum
it cuases to much squit
this should stop a lot of the spammers from simply joining fbuk and and perpetually copy and pasteing hyperlinks from other forums/ news websites
ovenpaa is aware of my thoughts on this subject and is only my own personal thoughts
i am prepared for incomeing comments

Spud et al,
I am not the biggest poster but am an avid reader.
I enjoy GOM as I feel it is like minded people, ie shooters, who are able to vent their feelings with friends. It is good to know that there are lots of others who feel as I do about the state of this country. We still have threads available for serious shooting questions etc.
It is as good as a night at the pub but a whole lot cheaper!
I would perhaps suggest that members 'moderate' their vitriol towards other members. We are adults. We all deserve out own thoughts. Just because we are 'anonymous' there is no need to be insulting or provocotive.
If it is technecally better to remove GOM, then so be it. Until recently I had no idea how much work went into a forum!

Spammers have nothing specific to do with GOM, they will post anywhere if they can get away with it.
I do not want to see GOM gone, it is a vital part of our little community. It may not be shooting related in GOM however it is shooters posting in there about everyday life.
"Freedom of Speech", it is a sensitive concept, I for one would love that we all can say what we like, however in this day and age protecting the forum comes first. GOM may only be for members but we are very diverse and we all see things differently. Personal insults are banned on this forum, end of.
JohnGarnett, spot on!

I too like GOM. As I have said before, if a thread is going somewhere I don't like, I just don't go there again.
On the other hand Bnz isn't keen on it so he rarely logs in unless he wants to post.

GoM serves a very useful purpose, it is a specific place for non shooting views and opinions which come out in the course of internet discussions however specific.
Having the forum means that the shooting forums, the purpose of Full-Bore UK and the reason I for one am here, are kept to the main subjet of interest in this community of interest. Guns and shooting.
It also means that those members who do not like and take exception to the tone and content of GoM can read the other forums without having to put up with such stuff. The forum is caveated in its header.
The rest of the forums and the important stuff, guns and shooting is the better, more focussed and cleaner for GoM.
