Prototypes of two versions.
Firstly the Chombart inspired pocket version with large and small ends so it can be used down to .223 bolt faces with claw ejectors. It requires a vernier to confirm measurement. Simply measure and zero the gauge (50mm) then slacken the thumb screw and push the gauge over the protruding firing pin and lock the inner rod in place with the thumb screw, measure again and you will have the firing pin protrusion. This I will call the metric version :lol:
For those with an imperial bias there is the indicator type, sized for .223 bolt face and up set the gauge on a level surface and adjust the dial to zero, then simply push over the protruding firing pin and measure the distance on the gauge.
These are both working prototypes and the final designs may be tweaked slightly based on feedback.

One of the reasons why I've always been suspicious of the metric system is because the French think its a good idea.
