The international teams are arriving - was at Heathrow this morning to see the South Africans in. It's really great to see GR maturing as a full International discipline, and to hear that the SA authorities, initially very much against GR, were won over by being invited to a demonstration and hands-on experience. .22" semi-autos are now licensed for target shooting in SA (only 10 so far I understand, but the first step is the most difficult) and that is due to a combination of the work of the GR community over the years to make Phoenix what it is and dogged determination by the SA team that they would compete on equal terms with their own guns.

I saw Dromia this afternoon, not a happy bunny. A mix up over his accommodation, not for the first time he tells me. So a good start to the Phoenix for him then.

When you drink enough and don't visit the bathroom, it sometimes does!

I did spot ITL setting up with a few nice .357 Marlins on show (sorry did not see how much), and tins of 5.56 RG for £270, worth a look as he's always good on the prices.

Loved the WW1 Mauser anti- tank rifle which just outside the main building sat on a table all along!
It was dated 1918 and looked to have much larger round than a .50cal and the bolt was huge and at least a foot long!
The fella said that they could only manage about 10 shots before there ears would bleed!!
Very impressed with it!!
