As for frightening them", once again liberal dogoody limpwristers have no idea of the REAL world where kids play violent games on a PC that most definitely include gun shots..and playing a RECORDING of a gun shot, FFS...what would be the difference.

Trouble is these people are aleady screwed up inside, they hate themselves and pass their irrational fears, phobias and inadequacies on to all around them.

Some (all) of those wassocks need sacked and beaten about the head with books on real life.

Fooking ridiculous! I went to school with the guys son and he used to start our sports day races with a Walther PPK blank replica which was kept in a store cupboard opposite the headmasters office (always plotted to get my hands on it . . .) Couldn't believe it when I found out he's starting the Olympics major races!

Sigh. When we founded the club at Brunel University everything went swimmingly - FEO and student union right behind us, membership expanding, blah blah blah. Our campus had quite a lot of open space around it, and the archery club used to set up on weekends and have long-range outdoor shoots. "That could work for field target airgun" thought I, so I got some large-scale maps, found the safety templates, knocked up a RASP and sent it to the university with a request along the lines of "the archery club do this already, can we please do something very similar - here is the safety related documentation to allay any fears you may have."

The university man responsible for handling this was a guy called Paul Thomas. Who, after nearly 3 months sitting on the proposal, told the student union (not us): "I cannot authorise the outdoor use of the weapons on any part of the campus I am afraid, for a raft of reasons."
He also compared our club to Dunblane. And refused any requests to explain what this "raft of reasons" was, or even to meet so we could discuss his concerns.

Meanwhile, the archery club, with their 60lb compound bows, continued to shoot at 100(ish) yards in full public view.

Maybe bows and arrows is where it's at. <spits>

What qualifications do these self abusers have fpor deciding kids will be ahrmed, THEY are more of a danger to impressionable minds than a whole army firing guns!

Who are they trying to kid, most of the little toerags are probably carrying anyway, bike chains, chivs, sawn offs whatever the current man "o" the hoose has left lying around.

100% agree, sanitising society does not give us a nicer class of youth, they may not be exposed to starting pistols but they get plenty of exposure to shoot em games and mates with grand ideas...

This is laughable.We're gonna end up the butt of everyones jokes throughout the world soon.
