Downside is items such as magazines can no longer be popped in the post. I was looking at this last night and wondering exactly how it would impact my business and the only parts I will have to review the shipping of are bolt handles and the magazines I modify and both are usually sent insured and recorded so no real hardship in that respect.

Are Royal Mail aware that the shooting sports is worth around a billion pounds a year? That's a lot of commerce they're turning their back on...... Good luck come privatisation!
I thought the majority of RM already were privatised?

My take on this is that with Royal Snail losing 20 million items a year - that's 20,000,000 - I'd be less than happy with them carrying ANY gun related kit
I have 1st hand experience of them losing 9mm pistols and all sorts of other S.1 kit - TWICE, to the same address!!!

It doesn't explicitly say that they're only limiting it to controlled components - merely "any" component used in a firearm. Maybe not their intention to ban non-controlled items, but the law of unintended consequences will probably kick in here.

I've yet to have anything delivered by ParcelForce themselves - they always drop it off at the local Post Office for delivery by Royal Mail! :cool2:
