Dillon

I think If you had had the experience I had with them in the early 1990s trying to buy a press of them you would not think so highly off them.

Also the arrogance of some dillon users also puts me off, you would think they were the only company on the planet.

I don't doubt that dillon make a reasonable product but there are other just as good brands out there.

When I chose not to buy a dillon after my bad experience with them I bought an RCBS Ammomaster it has loaded 10s of thousands of rounds over the years and never missed beat. RCBS after market support is legendary, not that I have ever need to avail myself of it with the Ammomaster.

When I needed another progressive press a few years ago I bought an Hornady LnL as the Ammomaster was no longer made and my memories of my bad dillon experience have not abated.

Again another press that just plain works. I have used a friends 650 a bit and yes it works too and if the company gave better service I might consider it but as there are equally good pieces of kit out there at less money with less snobbery and arrogance then I am happy to give those companies my money.

If you like dillon then good luck to you, but my negative experience of them puts the company on my dislike list and I would hope that my view would be respected.

I have owned a Dillon 550 for over 25 years in fact I think it was the first 550 in the country, I had initially ordered a 450 but they updated the design. It has been a superb press and the service I have received from Dillon has been outstanding. I have loaded tens of thousands of rounds on that press over the years.
I agree that RCBS also provide excellant back up and have no qualms about recommending that company also. I will continue to support both companies and speak very much as I find.

I'm not doubting your word Dromia. On the other hand a company that I have personally found wanting is Lee.

Anything “Tactikool” and straight-pull

.22LR firearms in general. I’ve never warmed to them, they don’t do anything for me. Sorry.

Shotguns. Again, they’ve never done it for me.

Long-Barrel Revolvers. See above.

…I may be a firearm snob ;)
