Dont think so, I saw a lot of second-hands Vz58 @ € 100 in the Czech Rep .

Just back from a hour at the range checking zero on my deer rifle. Took my AK and VZ for an outing as well. AK as always a huge amount of fun. VZ wow.... I am one happy camper...... Now to fit an optic. Red dot and or a scope... So happy with the VZ. 55gr Barnul no hard extraction issues and both the USGI and RG (SA 80) mags functioned flawlessly. Happy to have two eastern bloc rifles sat alongside the other residents in my cabinet.

Re: Vz58
The new Vz58 "trigger release" is tempting, I reckon I may have to save up for one and at £1750 they are loads cheaper than Bobs £5K .223 Lever Release, do you go for 7.62x39 or .223 though ? decisions decisions.

Re: Vz58
What's a VZ58 "Trigger Release"?, can't find anything about it.

Re: Vz58
Saw it at Bisley today. The rifle self extracts using gas pressure but the bolt is held back until the trigger is depressed and released. The bolt then comes forward and loads the next round. The next trigger pull fires the round.
2 triggerpulls for each round after the first with no manual operation of the bolt. Not semi auto just a well exercised index finger.

I like the sound of this trigger release thingumy, shame you can't get an AK like that, i'd be on it like a tramp on chips! :)
