I got why Dromia deleted posts, they were pretty much ads.. the rest is only serving to split us into different camps :-(
If someone posts a "Thinking of getting an AR - who makes the best one", then its hard to have a thread which does not feature endorsement of whatever the posters favourite happens to be !
Exactly! :good:

Yep

I wont elaborate except to say that Mark could have made money out of myself and others very easily, and instead has bent over backwards to help, advise and keep his marque out there and appreciated.

I am not the only person he has done work for FOC and I would never expect that, so fair play to mr B

As an aside I am a site supporter which must indicate something positive as I wouldn't consider for a second contributing to that other so-called Airgun forum which for some inexplicable reason is rated higher than this one.
With the current posture of the Site Manager / Admin / Moderator then I would say you have to hopes, Bob Hope and No Hope, and you can bet the latter is the one is the guaranteed cert!
G, you forgot envelope mate clapclap

Cannot help but notice that here we have a lot of members asking for a AR or Straight-pull section on this site and getting that request declined.

Yet we have a section here which has only had 5 new threads since the start of 2017 and no new posts to any thread in the past 3 months. It is "Emergency Planning" - not sure how planning for emergencies fits into the FBUK misson statement of "Supporting all legal firearm owners, collectors, enthusiasts, shooters and competitors by promoting and encouraging legitimate gun ownership and use in the UK through unity, advocacy and discussion" ?

Just saying.............

Seeing as this is now the AR section, ahem.... Anyone know if 30 round .22 AR mags are available? in alloy would be nice but not essential.

Would highly recommend the Lantac ones feed nicely in my Raven and Sig 522. The Black Dog that came with Sig is pretty good and l have a couple of Gen 2 CMMG that work well.

They may not be 30 round though.

Should really be asked in the Rimfire section!

Sheesh, what a dilema. Should it be in the AR section or cluttering up the rimfire section and annoying the pants of a few people. lol

Thanks for the PM Grizzly, nice mags! You should have posted on here, those are nearly half price of the alloy ones Ive seen.

3rd edit!! Just realised you did post it on here a while back!!! Did you have any issues importing them?

If you think having a "I drool over anything that looks like an AR" section then happy days, but you dont need it. You all shoot on the same ranges.

As regards banning..... kukkuk
I don't think that is what people are asking for, more a sub-forum for miliary derived rifles that don't fit into the pre-'45 military and historic section.

If the thread in question is the one that was started by me started titled "AR15 straight pull recommendations" then I have to admit I was bamboozled by the reason given for locking it.
I am new to this kind of shooting and as I stated in the thread it is almost impossible for me to get out to a CSR comp to check these rifles out. So, my only option is to try and gain as much info as possible from people who have experience/knowledge on the subject. Now for me, the way to make an informed choice on the matter is to take in all the info that is given, sift through it, research some more and then come to a conclusion. The replies I got were all helpful with different people giving their recommendations. There was nothing whatsoever on that thread that shouted "lock me!!" I did look at older threads but as a previous poster pointed out technology advances also different manufactures come and go and bring out new models.
Reading the comments in this thread I am having to consider if this forum is for me or if I need to look for an alternative. I was excited to join as it seemed that this forum covered everything but when a mod can just lock a thread for a reason only they can see, which may or may not be prompted by their apparent personal dislike of the subject matter makes me wonder sadly if I should stay.
