Do you see a pattern emerging?
There's no appetite by the HO to bring in further legislation over and above what was in the proposed Bill in the first place.
What is still concerning is that there still seems to be no glimmer of hope for .50cal and MARS/LR owners other than a comment made this morning by Victoria Atkins which hinted that the Home Secretary was still considering enhanced security rather than a ban. Not much to go on there.
Enhanced security makes more sense than any ban, less cost to the taxpayer too.
We live in hope.

No mention of directed energy weapons either. Funny that.
But she did get her wish that "all high calibre hand guns remained banned, from private use".

I still live in hope of a phased plasma rifle in a 40 watt range being put on section 1.

Definition of terrorist according to Google: unlawfully using violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims.
Seems logical to me that these people should be locked up for intimidating the general public with their ban all gun views. There's civilians out there who are sh!tting it because the "guns kill people" cobblers is trotted out far too often. That's terror being created to intimidate in my book.

The amusing thing is you could get hold of a pretty dangerous device easily if you knew what you were doing. I saw a post today on another forum where someone into lasers had got hold of an old high energy laser with a rated output of 1000 Joules. No licence necessary.
He's got it burning holes in coins in his kitchen. Granted, it's a bit cumbersome to cart around town taking out pigeons, but if you told the likes of the Offensive Weapons Bill committee about it, they'd probably have a collective heart attack.

Weirdly the frikkin "lasers" don't require a licence - but keeping a shark does.

Or you could drive a 1 tonne car at 50 miles an hour and effectively have a long range guided missile delivering 247,000 joules, easily obtainable can be hidden in plain sight and requires little training to operate effectively. Also has capability of carrying additional like minded souls who if equipped with steak knives turn it into a multiple warhead weapon.
Give that to a spindoctor wordsmith and you’d wonder why such a thing exists.
