I will call drivel drivel without apology....

Starting with no question mark after: 'Are you an anti come here to troll.'

And 'Blaming the inadequate objects for the evil of humans is just stupid.' which means absolutely nothing.

And well the rest of your post was even less coherent.

I will condense my point for the dim of mind.

Further legislation on deacs is pointless divisive and mean to collectors - it won't make a difference to shooting crime (note i didn't say gun crime) as deactivated is deactivated - no bang bang - simples. Extra welding on deacs to limit moving parts etc will make no difference to any poor sod threatened with one by some goit - as at least they are inert and practically impossible to return to anything other than ornament status.
Whereas Ob cal weapons are and have been freely available for years and the criminal fraternity however thick are having no problems Macgyvering ammo for them, and only now is the licensing faux pas on obs being publicised.

How is any of that 'anti'?????????

It is the kind of incoherent twaddle such as you burbled that makes the shooting fraternity look like rabid idiots to the general public and is doing us no service at all.

I am an avid, proud and responsible shooter and gun owner, but none of that means i ignore reality - and any of us involved in this sport do so at our own peril.

If any of that by your reckoning makes me an anti.. so be it.

Best rgds
Al

Yes you do have anti weaknesses, it is your thinking that does us all disservice.

Sadly it's whenever someone spouting your kind of 'us and them' rhetoric gets air time - we in the shooting community get hauled over the coals as being nut-cases and worthy of another legislative kicking.
What you are saying is essentially its fine that ob cals that are easily loaded and fired and being used by gangs to kill people as long as nothing stops dealers from making a profit selling them.

nice

I wouldn't say, in my opinion, that your average obselete calibre firearm is exactly easy to reload for......is you average crim (A) going to source an obselete calibre firearm and reloading equipment, bullets, powder etc etc for the obselete round or (B) source an illegal 9mm handgun and a zip bag of rounds or an old sawn-off 12g from their local illegal underworld supplier???

I would say (B) is far more like wouldn't you?.

I had another look at my post to see if I was being unreasonable. I don't believe I was. Also after reading your posts I remain to be convinced that you are pro shooting,

They would have to be pretty clued up to re manufacture ammo for a obsolete calibre and pretty determined to use it for no good to go to all that trouble to source a obsolete calibre then do all that research to be able re manufacture ammo for it.

Any way I thought this thread was about the EU trying to shaft us.

Ask NABIS and Continuity ACPO how many obsolete calibre firearms have been recovered as used in crime? They will not give you an answer. The numbers are statistically irrelevant. However, the "antique" mantra is one being trotted out by NABIS/ACPO as the present great menace. And you swallowed it.

A boat full of fully automatic military weapons was stopped in Kent. UKBA at the juxtaposed border controls in France turn up shipments of handguns on a regular basis and last June an Albanian organised crime nominal was convicted of having a running gun battle with a NCA surveillance officer in a London street, and you swallow the line that a 110 year old revolver for which ammunition hadn't been made since the end of WW1, is an issue in the fight against criminals arming themselves?

Yep, we can all call drivel when we read it....
