Couldn't agree more, on both points.
On that note - It can only be a matter of time before we hear that some NHS/police computer has been hacked and a complete list of all FAC/SGC holders is being circulated and sold to the highest bidder. it only needs to happen once.
Don't give the anti-gun brigade arguments!! lol

No need to hack , there as there more than enough currupt police officers and civilians .

We had a Police visit tonight......

We are a small club that shoots within the Fulwood Club (Liverpool) on Saturday Afternoons. We had finished shooting, had locked up the ranges and were about to leave when the Police turned up just before 6pm. A mixture of Uniform, a possible Detective and Firearms Licensing Personal.

I answered the door and they asked if I was in charge, I simply said that I was the Range Officer and that I would escort them in.
They checked all the records, Insurance, Attendance register, HO approval and asked our Club Secretary a bunch of questions. They checked our ammo stocks and I helped show them all the club guns which they checked off serial numbers against their list.

NO ISSUES FOUND!!!!

They were not "Heavy Handed" or nasty in any way... Everyone seemed happy.

Bit off turning up mob handed unannounced. Our last inspection was by two of the licencing team by prior appointment & they had given notice of everything they wanted to see so that we had it all ready for them.

Yes, I thought that too, just as everybody was about to go home.
Ours was just one guy who had made an appointment so that the person he needed to see with all the info and keys to hand would be there. Courtesy is still a 'thing' in Oxfordshire.

Ahhh Perhaps I should have said that we had been told to expect a visit sometime this month. We were told they would come "after 4".

Eight, I believe that was the number of personnel we had sign our visitors register.
Uniformed Officers were all males (although in todays climate, perhaps I should not make such gender stereotypical assumptions)....
They didn't carry any weapons other than tasers. When asked, they said all of them were Police.
