Before I get flamed and beaten with the butt stock of a rifle.
The good days before 1988 are well and truly over , as well as in 1996, but obviously not within in European Union, as to date. As with ourselves we were unable to stop such legislation and would also have no real influence, what ever happens in Europe in the coming months/years.
Now if all of Europe choose to ban semi automatic weapons, and totally agree this has no bearing on legal gun ownership, would this be detrimental for the uk. If all of Europe went down our route and for instance the only semi automatic weapons were only available to the United States, would that make it easier within Europe. ?
I'm no expert here, but was thinking , if all of Europe was allowed straight pull, wouldn't the production cost be halfed, due to such a spike in production, would that, Bradley arms, Cmmg, spikes etc etc , costs go down buy half, due to some suppliers chucking out, such rifles in a niche market ????

So sacrifice .22 semis and shotguns for a half price straight-pull??

Well if you put it like that !
But didn't mean .22 , as it didn't have relevance here, within our legislation.

I think it is medically called "Stockholm syndrome" ie : about 10% of hostages think the absence of terrible violent abuse from their captors is actually an act of kindness and fully co-operate with the perpetrators


With such thinking how ridiculously easy it will be to take your SA away from you that you may as well volunteer right now. The Guns-Hating EU commission would actually be so stupid not to go next after your straight-pull that . After all, straight-pull AR's have the same mag capacity & only marginally lower rate of fire than what they currently proposing to ban ? The EU will start a Mike Yardley Award if interested

You are all getting excited about something that is in all likelyhood not going to affect the UK.

You haven't answered my points about it affecting the market place.

I don't think it will affect the 'market' place unless you are in the market for assault rifle or handgun which we in the UK are not allowed anyway.

You are totally wrong, any restrictive legislation affects the size of the sector globally and that impacts on all shooter and gun owners.

That's fair enough, I totally understand your point, mine was just an opinion as a relatively new shooter.
In the end what will be, will be, but if that's your case, where's the outcry, where's the intellectuals fighting the shooters corner??? Where's the organisations, putting there debate out there ???

I never said I was talking sense, I hardly know nothing about shooting, and I'd never come across any of this until I viewed such a topic on full-bore, now you get where I'm coming from ?
