Try backing off the locking ring on the right side one hole and see if that helps as I doesnt need to be really tight.
Looks tidy by the way

Sorted it, I was just being a pansy. I did take a little material off the inside arm of the stock that passes closest to the selector switch and it
just clears the selector nubbin now. Cheers for the help.

Update on the AKMS as I shot it at 300 yards and 200 yards last Sunday at Bisley in the p*ssing rain and crosswinds, not ideal for a first go with it!
The rifle is good fun to shoot and a bit pokier than I was expecting (I haven't shot 7.62x39 for years) although this could be down to the straight pull configuration. I had to sight it in and eventually got them on the paper at 300 yards on Century with the rear sight ramp set correctly. We then moved to 200 yards on Long Siberia and with a windage adjustment to the front sight I was getting them in the black with every shot and the occasional V-bull, which with iron sights I don't consider too bad.
I was using 1967 Ukrainian surplus ammo which would sometimes extract OK but was sometimes too sticky, requiring a whack on the carrier to dislodge. I am hoping this will improve with use and better ammo - I intend to pick up some commercial ammo at the shooting show and some components for reloading. Other guys from my club seemed to enjoy shooting the rifle and were impressed with how clean the trigger breaks.
One oddity I noticed was when I came to clean the rifle - the bolt wouldn't come out of the carrier. On closer inspection it appears that the manufacturer had put a spot weld on the inside of the carrier which prevented the bolt from being rotated enough to come out. Very odd as cleaning is important after using corrosive ammo and surely that's what the rifle is designed to fire! Anyway, I ground the spot weld off and am now able to fully strip the rifle for cleaning.
Generally pleased with the rifle and looking forward to shooting it some more over the coming months.

On a serious note long necked Izhmash ones are rarer, I've seen a couple of Tulas but never an Izzy.......shame it isn't a long neck 40r RPK mag, the yanks would go mad for it!.
