One aspect that seems often forgotten these days as well. Is that the Home Office Instruction to Chief Officers that approved this "firearm type" fir s1, is that the instruction also included that a note be issued with every variation grant that the Home Secretary could at any time declare anything "especially dangerous" and ban it, and if was done so in the case of LBRs then no compensation from the government would be payable. Thus I believe is still the case.
TVP sent me no such note, so would I be able to claim compo if they decide to ban my K22?

I wouldn't have a clue. As said at the beginning when LBR variations were first granted this note was included with returned and varied FACs. I had one in Kent and Blackstuff had one from Durham, so fair to assume they were national.

I once asked my MP, Anne Widdecombe at the time, how much the handgun ban actually cost. After much badgering she couldn't give me a figure as the money was handed out over three financial years. She wouldn't put it in writing, but I later learned, verbally, that the total bill was over £1 Billion.

They'll never spend that again.

I must say that I do have a Taurus and really fancied one of the Rude Fat Dog S&W based Europas. But at nearly three grand and the whim of a Home Secretary's pen, then no, I'll not make that investment. I won't even consider forking out for a new Taurus 456, I'll wait and if still on ticket, look for a secondhand one in a couple or three years time...

"Grandfather rights" weren't so in the strictest sense. Some of us were allowed to keep our SCGC air guns as long as we satisfied very specific criteria. And that was from being unrestricted to qualifying for an FAC. Those that couldn't qualify had no option, handed in for destruction, with no compensation.
Yes correct I suppose they were hoping that owners of brococks wouldn't qualify for an FAC or wouldn't borther to trying to get one
Although i think they put a clause in the VCR Act that stated that exsting Brocock owners wouldn't need to specify a good reason ?

What I find sicking is that we have a rights to arms in our consitution however it's means jack because in law the House of Lords cannot strike down an unconsitutional law unlike more civilised countries and the sheeple actually support this ! Excuse me while i go to puke !

In a word, yes.

When the Legislative instruct our government to do something typically they do it and then go OTT by about 50-100% when it comes to Firearms Acts. Think 'hi-cap' shotguns getting included in the 1988 ban even though Ryan didn't use one, handguns being 'banned' in 1997 even though the recommendation was just to keep the slides/cylinders at your club and you take the frames home 8-)

If that's the case kiss goobye then to straight pull ar-15s, ak verants, fals etc which in will turn kill off practical / shooting with movment comps ! Which the police seem to hate with passion ! Except for themselves ! I not interested in shooting a single shot target rifle ! I might hold off buying some expensive peltor ear defenders until after January then !

They ban list is everything in my safe except for the section 2 over and under

Same here, with the possible exemption of my 308 bolt action. But that does have one of them deadly black stocks on it, a tele-me-scopic sight and silencer, which as we all know turns it into an assassins sniper weapon system, so that might be for the chop as well. And thinking about it my O/U shotgun has a black plastic stock too so might as well have the job lot!

Yer and forget AI rifles as those are military sniper rifles! Even lee enfields might have to go !
I was taking to one of the NRA lot some time ago he reckons the next ban will be pretty much everything because we are so restrictive and already have banned quite few firearms !

If we are really lucky we might have grandfather rights !
