So you are saying that all the certification officers in other authorities who don't give that level of service are not nice people and that is why the whole licensing system is a shambles?

When I asked Thames Valley how long a variation would take they apologised for being very busy and said 5-6 weeks.
I delivered my application personally and the FAC came back after 7 weeks.
I can live with that. It gives me longer to save for up the new toy.

I've had two one-for-one's done by Surrey in the last couple of months. Each took two-and-a-half weeks.

I am on just under a month for a couple of 1:1 variations with Lincolnshire and no news yet which means it has not even been picked up as the FEO will need to contact me on them.
Fingers crossed my FAC is back for Harvest.

Lancashire are only doing variations on weekend overtime, it would seem. Thier normal work week is prioritising renewals (rightly so), and new applications.

Lincolnshire has just come good for a 1:1 for two rifles and ammunition for use overland - three weeks and three days and before you snigger this is a significant improvement over previous occasions. I even rang them up and told them well done which rather shocked the poor lass at the other end.

The one time I didn't have time to get in my FEO dropped my ticket at my house personally to make sure I could pick my rifle up for the weekend, that's service!
What mythical land is this!!

The haven for shooters that is Wiltshire, though I keep getting told the drop ins are stopping I seem to be able to get one, usually with rather charming new admin girl

Mine came in the post this morning making it about 4 weeks since I dropped the paperwork in. If it had a day or two earlier I could have collected my rifle however I'm flying out tomorrow for a 7 night break "up North" and I really mean North!
