Mk4 Leupold. 3.5-10x40 is probably my absolute favourite, I have two rifles so kitted. But the Mk4 8-25x50 on another rifle is the dogs danglies....

As an aside, be been very impressed with Vortex, but never owned one.

I think we have a couple of Hawke scopes on rimfire rifles and they work for me however I never shoot them beyond 40m

My M3 would be the second last scope I got rid of !

Loved the new vortex gen 2 but if you can't get one then it may as well be a unicorn turd !

My 4-16x50 mil single turn PMII has been with me longer than any other 'scope and is my absolute favourite. For optical clarity the Vikings 12x56 German built S&B is very special as it certainly gathers more light and may well end up on my Sako replacing the SAII at some point.

Kahles are reasonable as well and I do like Pecar. I am not a fan of Nightforce despite running a 42XBR for many years, it is not as intuitive as my PMII and even at low magnification it struggled in low light.

I've always felt that Minox are under-rated although they seems to be getting more popular of late. Between us, my son and I have owned three Minox optics ... ... ...
  • Minox ZA5 3-15x50SF
  • Minox ZA5 4-20x50SF
  • Minox ZA5 5-30x56SF (now sold)
Optically and mechanically these are excellent scopes and all can be obtained new at very good prices. Minox's current ZP range of tactical optics are very good indeed.

Another German optic range often overlooked is Steiner - again very good indeed.

I really like my Vortex PST 2.5-10x44, it's light, good spread of magnification and the scope I'll be fitting to my bunny rifle when I get the chance.

For long range work my March 5-32x52 is very hard to beat.

For ETR to 300 yards I love my ACOG. The optics are superb and the ladder reticle is spot on.

I am with Alpha 1 my Kahles ZF95 10x which is on my SSG for a scope that may be 40 odd years old still like crystal and great build quality.
