Pistol on bottom right looks like an airgun!

"Ch Supt Colin Gall said any firearm had the potential to fall into the hands of criminals.

He said: "One of the outcomes of this campaign is about removing dangerous weapons from the street to reduce the amount of illegally held firearms within the public arena."

But ANYTHING has the potemntial to fall into the hands of criminals...cars, scooters, acid, billiard cues, screwdrivers etc etc! These "dangerous weapons" in the photo are NOT on the streets are they!

I guess if you reversed the browning and held it by the barrel, it would make a pretty effective club! Much more dangerous than the 3 air guns on the poster 8-)

If I was a police officer I'd be embarrassed to be shown on that poster. I mean ... who are they trying to kidd?

What really annoys me about this isn’t the fact that the police do these surrenders or amnesties - it’s obviously a good thing to at least try - it’s the misleading way the results are presented by the police and the media. If nothing dangerous gets handed why can’t they just “say it was worth a try maybe next time we’ll get something more significant”. But they always have a hail it as a success which means presenting deactivate guns and airguns as dangerous viable weapons when they are not. The public sees these, doesn’t see them for what they are and starts to demand tougher gun laws to stop the tidal wave AK47s on the street.
