The easy-going lot settle with 308, 243 & 223. The traditionalists stick with 30-06, 25-06, 270, 7x57 etc. The style contious grasp any stupid, weird and wonderful fantasy that pops into the restless minds....and god love them for it! When seeking a new stalking rifle i'll walk right on by the current flashy, over priced bang sticks and pick up the 2nd hand, beautifully stocked, solidly engineered and in most cases hand built 'old' and out of fashion rifles. Rifles that are in most cases inexpensive to buy.

We've all done it; we've all been hypnotised by the outrageous claims and plainly stupid hype surrounding a calibre. Sold our soul, re-mortaged the house and sold the kids into slavery in the deluded belief that this is the on and only calibre that will transform us into Carlos Hathcock, gods gift to shooting and the absolute envy of all other shooters (sane or not). Deer will simply fall dead at our feet upon command, bullet holes can appear no-where else than the centre of the bull and wind just doesn't exist (except that wind you create in quantity when boring anyone to death who'll listen).

Yup, you've guessed it. I have a 6.5x47 lapua in my gun cabinet.

Hmmm, we currently have none of the above mentioned calibres. What does that make us ?

Depending on your action length just get a 6.5x55 or a 260rem , you won't be disappointed with either but reloading is the way forward for 260. There problem solved!

6.5 x 55 Swedish Milsurp is the ideal solution we thinks....
