Went old school with my latest acquisition - a second hand RWS Model 89 in 222 Remington.
Mod 89a.jpg
It currently weighs 10.5lb (4.8kg) and has a 22" barrel with a 1:12 twist (approximately), but 1:320mm (1:12.6) might be more correct.

Interestingly, there are no British proof marks on the rifle only the above German ones.

The scope (an Original Model 17 6x40 Wide Angle) takes a bit of getting used to, as the sight picture is similar to the one below

There's not much information out there that I can find on this rifle, but it handles nicely and the bolt is smooth in it's action. Even though it's not my usual type of rifle, it's been a while since I looked forward to shooting a rifle as much as this one!

Been looking for one of those in 44 mag for a long time. They just are not around like they used to be, not for sale anyways.

I wish you luck if finding one. This one was in a gun cabinet for 5-6 years and not fired. It still would be if the seller did not a small health issue. I have now put approx 300 round down her she is firing great action is slick but could do with more work. This is part of my CAS setup, just purchased a 20" Huglu Coach 12g SbS Hammer. not fired yet but going to my first CAS shoot this weekend.

You're a dark horse! How did you manage to get 3 x .303's on ticket?

You could say one is scoped, one is peep hole sights, traditional sights or that you are aiming to possess one of each model. There is a will and way to do things depending on which force you come under.
