Yes it's identical. Hand on heart, it extracts perfectly with GGG 7.62x51 and I do mean that, there's no resistance. It's possible you won't have issues with other ammo, but I haven't needed to try anything else, it's perfect. I also have an IMBEL FAL and when I'm shooting anything but Hornady .308, I have hard extraction issues after a few rounds when the chamber heats up, so I know what you're trying to avoid.
Get one!

How about a POSP 8x42 scope with weaver mounts?, comes with illuminated reticule and 1000m rangefinder.I have one on my Dragunov (with original SVD mount) and it is brilliant with nice clear optics and they are built like tanks and will last a lifetime.
iirc i paid £185 for mine and it came with a camo pouch, ballistics chart, cleaning cloth, scope tool and spare batteries.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I'm probably going to buy the Weaver SuperSlam Euro-Style 4-20x50 scope on the previous page. The brightness and clarity of the optic is second to none in my experience and that's comparing it to a S&B PMII as well. If you looked through the glass, you would probably say wow...

Yes I prefer your price, but once I looked through the weaver scope it was as good as sold!

Israeli Nimrod would be my choice - though as I have one sitting here on the shelf it'd be a zero outlay choice - plus it is the same scope that the Israeli's used on their M14 sniper rifles

Russian optics are very under-rated but are very very effective (Spetsnaz and VDV snipers cant be wrong).Virtually everyone who has shot my Dragunov have been very impressed with the scope and cannot believe they cost so little, plus the price difference means more ammo :)

I am still toying with an AK-101 to fill my 5.56 slot and if I go that route, I will put a POSP 8x42 on it. They look nice with the rubber eyecup on them!

You'll like the 101, everyone should have at least one AK!

.I have a .223 slot spare and was thinking of getting a 101 with the skeleton sidefolding stock and making an AK-74S out of it as i have got spare Soviet laminated handguards etc knocking about.
The one on my Dragunov, milspec grey finish
PK-A red-dot on my AK-104
