A place called Cold War Collectibles seems to have dragunov magazines in stock for 50 quid, which seems to be the going rate.

An aluminium waffle mag is on my 'want' list as well as steel stamped and slab side Soviet 30 rounders. I would love a 40 round Bakelite RPK magazine and they aren't as unobtainable as they once were...still expensive though.

The holy grail for me would be a plum waffle 30 round magazine which it seems were only issued for testing - a few have been found in Afghanistan but they are ultra rare. That or the GREEN Bakelite magazine from a 'best border guard' trophy AKM.

I think the plum waffle mags were only for the 5.45 AK-74,and as for a green Border Guard mag.....I don't think there are any genuine ones outside of Russia as I think they are handed in to a museum when the recipient retires.

See here for the Russian plum 7.62 mag (middle):

They are very rare but a few in circulation. Introduced in the early 80s apparently.

Goes to show you learn something new every day, I didn't know they made them in x39.
