Well I personally would rather know what is happening rather than get a brown envelope from the Police informing me that they are going to confiscate my SGC LR. "No smoke without fire" and all that. At least if we know what is happening, there is a chance of doing something about the situation. I would love to think it is all nonsense, but being apathetic won't help us if it IS true.

I'm still not sure what is going on in this thread.
Being apathetic is one thing but going all of half cocked over what looks to me like Chinese whispers emanating from some internet blog which states that it is all here say anyway looks to me like typical sensationalist tabloid gutter press journalism that is just regurgitating gossip for the sake of hits on the web site.
I won't give places like that the oxygen.
As has been said these firearms have been approved through proper processes and scrutiny, to change that will require further proper process more than some daft video, that no-one seems to know where it is, that will allow engagement to challenge it.
Taking heed of populist scumbag journalist paranoia does nothing to help our well being.

Don't be so quick to dismiss what happens in Scotland.
You tend to find what happens in Scotland happens in England two years later.
Whilst it may seem perfectly okay to say "I'm allright Jack - pull up the ladder" it could be that after some ill thought out legislation up here, it could be happening in your area next once a precedent has been made.

I appreciate there was a falling out over differing opinions on the Bisley Shooting Club and you are a MOD/ADMIN but Gaz is one of the few professional card carrying Journalists prepared to write on behalf of shooting sports out there. I really wish when you are the one usually calling for cooler heads that you would find a way to make peace with Gaz, ill advised words were stated on both sides but I would think keeping at least one journalist who is interested in talking about our sport and defending disciplines like Mini Rifle and CSR is a good thing...certainly better than Mike Yardley.

To a degree right, Scottish Government is desperate to take over legislative control of shooting! The second that happens then the ban hammer will really come down!
Of course with their worthless Air Rifle Licence scheme to implement the already under resourced Firearms and Explosive departments of Police Scotland are in little position to enact any more changes.

I have no personal grief with that individual but I do have with his profession. His poor behaviour on here has really nothing to do with it as my opinion was formed well before then.
From his writings I see little difference in his approach from the mainstream, which always has sensationalist spin to it in common with the rest of breed. That makes it look to me that he is using shooting as his niche for promoting his word smithing.
I could be totally wrong as I have no insight into his motivations other than his writings but as that is all I have to go on that is how it comes over to me so I say as I find, could be a style thing but that is how I see/read it.
Any journalist is coming from a low starting point in convincing me of their integrity, I base that view on decades of having the misfortune of having to work in/with the media.

It's only a matter of time that Scotland will get full devolved powers just like NI ! after they stupid failed refaremdom to stay in the union call me dave promised them more powers !
Once they do, good buy most gun ownership (except for plod of course ) the SNP has already stated they are against gun ownership and cant see any justification for owning more then one firearm
