You had me worried, so I double checked it on my digital calipers instead of the analogue one. It's still 49.5mm though.

The scope is an Opticron GS52 GA ED with Opticron HDF Zoom eyepiece.

Quick test on the range last night at 20 yrds using Phaedra's telephone.

Excellent results, which the photographs do not do justice to, which all who witnessed it were impressed with. I can see more of these approaches to spotting appearing on the firing points. At the end of the day no doubt the quality of the image is in direct relationship to the quality of the scope especially as to what can be see at the longer distances. I am also a convert to shoot and see targets for the longer distances where the spotting scope shows the holes that cannot be seen on the ordinary paper targets.

I have a Kowa TSN821M, 20-60x, eyepiece with rubber eye piece and over the rubber it measures 50.4 mm.

If you can find it somewhere else (e.g. on the developer's web site) then you can "sideload" it from a PC onto your device.

I knew this android sh!te wouldn't be easy, I run Linux and I can't find a way of side loading that works, I've spent the last couple of hours typing, copying and pasting code into the terminal with no success. The PC and the tablet are decidedly in the huff with each other.

Well it was only £30 and I have wasted half a day on that so only one step left, tablet in the bin.

Shame as I would have liked to have had that spotting scope system.

I never thought I'd see a Luddite using Linux.

Setting up a google account only takes a couple of minutes and after that you never really need to use it again.

I will not use Google any more as a matter of principle and practice, I have found them seriously wanting in every respect.

Great idea this. I use a little mount that holds my phone camera directly onto the spotting scope, skips the separate camera and cable and tablet etc.

This would be great for a more permanent range setup though.

I've been having a rethink today. I thought I would get away with just two or three tubes to cover most of the common scopes - I've yet to find two the same.

So - I made a tube with collet fingers, whoever with 3d printing there is a grain structure like wood and the fingers were too weak across the grain.
I think I have this sorted now and hopefully in a modular form so I can use the same fingers for all sizes etc.
