7000J is normally the max on gallery ranges, some ranges are a bit strange having a 7.62 calibre limit with 7,000J energy limit, this was due to visiting NATO troops using 300 win mag and 300 norma mag.
The maximum allowed muzzle velocity and calibre is stated in the range orders, my local range is cleared for 155mm :)
