this why they put the lr into open class. after all people have already spent lots of cash on their marlins, some (me included) cant afford another big purchase like that.

Great video, very informative. I'm also up here in the North East and if I'm not mistaken, quite a few shots were taken at Ponteland. If so, I was in the butts on the other range when that Lancaster flew over.
As a cack hander, I'm unsure how I'd cope with this gun, I've seen the release available for lefties, but do they do an ambi? How do you think a left hander would cope in general?
I'm sure an ambi gun could be made if you were willing to sacrifice the safety catch, which is sort of a redundant feature on the rifle anyway as you just have to not press the lever to keep it in a 'safe' condition (bolt locked open). Not sure if you'd be allowed to use it in competitions then though :?:
I don't see any reason why you'd suffer being left-handed if the gun was made truely left handed i.e. left handed ejection port, charging handle etc. I'm sure there'd be a price to pay for such 'customisation' though :(
I've shot a few weak-shoulder stages (which are left-handed for me) with the gun and its unpleasant as the overly large ejection port lets everything out, and right in your face. :? The newer model would be less so as its got a much smaller port. The way i've gotten around this is by fitting it with a brass catcher, but you need to explain to the RO what you're doing before hand. This does have the disadvantage of you not being able to visually check the chamber while shooting though. Swings and roundabouts really, but make sure you wear shooting glasses no matter what!

Today I made a dash for the Fox stall at the Trafalgar and bought the one that he has had for a while. party2
I was a little disappointed in the sales side of things, I was parting with a substantial amount of money, and I could not even get his attention. I will put that down to the show environment.
As at the time of buying my FAC had not returned, I managed to get it into the hands of a friendly RFD who will look after it until I return and pick it up.
On driving home I realised that I did not get a receipt, so will chase that up. Also no paperwork of any type, including instructions. I have found the owners manual on T Internet, so no real problem, just a little disappointing to walk away with nothing but a gun and a magazine - not even a cover.
On arriving home found my FAC on the doormat with the variation. I was tempted to turn around but will return tomorrow as I have a little unfinished business to complete anyway.
I intend on replacing the fore end and had a quick look today at the standard unit that Bob has installed. It does not appear to be fitted using the standard AR style ring, but appears to need a special 2 pronged tool.
Has anyone got any experience of taking this off - do you have a tool - any advice?
And has anyone seen a suitable flash hinder / muzzle break for it?

I think that is poor that with all the aftermarket stuff available for the AR platform you can't get SGC to swop parts or offer a list of options.....oh well.
Looking forward to your range report as I'm so tempted by one of these but will wait till I see one in the flesh at the Phoenix.

SGC do offer a list of options at SGC prices!
Basically I was not prepared to give him money direct and certainly will not pay his mark up on parts.
Brownell's will be getting an order sooner than later,
Pictures as and when I get it home,

Brian Fox always seems shy for want of a better word. He also speaks quite softly so I struggle to hear what he is saying, I have spent a few quid with him though.
I am looking forward to a range report and some pictures

Picked the carbine up today and got a receipt.
Have not fired it yet due so will be a frustrating couple of weeks until I can get to the range. Hopefully by then I will have found some 9mm factory cheaper than the NRA's £28 per 100.
Having searched the Internet for the SGC 9mm, it strikes me that there are not many pictures and fewer of it in the standard form. So here is a picture from most angles, should you want to see a picture of something else let me know and I will sort it out.
