I'm not sure, tekkernikkerly speaking, strength is related to size. It's more a material thing: for example, a small steel ring would be far stronger than a large ring made of marzipan. The Swedes have rather a good reputation where metallurgy is concerned, so I wouldn't be unduly worried that their steel composition, heat treatment and machining procedures were inferior to those of, say, the Germans... Quite the contrary in fact.

The Germans brokered a deal with Sweden where they swapped german optics for Swedish steel, the optics went onto the Swedish Mauser snipers and the steel, well that is anyones guess...

Well oomans, we're still thinking along these lines. A 6.5x55 in an AICS stock is one option, a P14 chambered to take 7.62x54R is another... The 7.5x55 Swiss / K31 seems to be out of the running as the surplus GP11 ammo is almost impossible to get. Another possibility is a Howa 1500 based rifle ...

the 7.5x55 PPU ammo is reasonably priced and makes the basis for a cheap reload, the Howa would make a good base as well (of course I'm biased :P )
