Wimmin are so good at the roll eyes thing aren't they!
Sorry, but YOU used the dishwasher! That is a woman only area - you should have passed her the gun to place in te dishwasher and waited for her to present it back to you, clean and dry.

If I didn't use it, we would have to buy new plates.........
Plus would you entrust your prized .44 magnum to slightly clumsey female?

My Wife has opened the dishwasher on several ocassions and found pistols in the top rack with the cups and tumblers.
Best way I have found to clean them.
Toss them in and they get washed, rinsed, and dried.
All you need to do is oil and remount the grips.

One of the reasons why my wife, who shoots very infrequently, is a member of my club is so that I can leave my stainless BP Ruger in the dishwasher. Small parts in one of those detergent string bags or in the cutlery tray. Frame on the top shelf.
Do something else for half an hour, take gun from dishwasher, wait for it to dry, lightly oil, re-assemble - job's a good 'un.
I wouldn't dream of cleaning it any other way. Not even in my sonic tank.

Don't forget it!
Pre-kids, our dishwasher went on about once a week....
Mrs on nights, me on earlies. Colt MkIV Ser 80 Government Model in .45 ACP, fully tricked for IPSC, spent three days in the dishwasher after going through a cycle..... I had three blocks of rust that were barrel, slide and reciever.
Have since used DW for B/P revolvers, never left one in there since!!
