A very realistic statement Dromia but how much will we lose before that happens?

I hope whatever our particular favourite discipline that we can stand together as shooters to try and show a resistance to further restrictions.

Lever release ? So which is it ?
Anything more then 10000 ft lbs then thats not just 50 cal !
Which is what I referred to earlier. They wont be after specific calibres - more about what they deem to be ( or capaple to be used as ) anti-materiel rifles.
I still have had no reply from my MP ( Tory )
I have heard so many conflicting reports, I think nobody truely knows what "rapid firing" rifles will encompass.

If the NRA et al don't manage to put a stop
To this nonense, mark my words this will give government / police / home office / sheep encouragement that they can (without even being incident) to go on a shopping lists of future bans !! What next! AR-15s !? Then if / when labour gets in at some point in the future, what ever we will still have left will
Go!
Since most of the uk has turned into nation of spineless bed wetters who trust the government and believe everything they read in the media not capable of thinking for themselves, they idea of freedom and invidual rights is getting drunk or getting benefits - will support any gun control measures or bans !
("Looks at America with school shootings every week" is the usual response)
Yet at the same time we will see agents of the state be given more fire power
The hallmarks of a police state

Totally agree. Far too many shooters and clubs just want to do what they want to do and are very unsupportive of anything else.

Shafted already and the consultation hasn't even started, if we had a decent, pro legal gun owning single organisation it would be
The natural spin off of this, of course, will be that it will be considered too impractical to limit these new storage pre-requisites just to .50 and MARS rifles so for 'clarity' it will be a condition for the storage of ALL firearms right down to the humblest .22 plinkers.

But I think your expectations of the NRA are largely unrealistic, it might say "promoting target shooting throughout the United Kingdom" on the website, but the reality is without the Bisley based income it would be 2 blokes bickering in a shed in Barnsley.
So why not call it the 'Surrey Shooting Club' and be done with it? Why pretend to be a National shooting organisation when it apparently only gives a crap about Bisley?
Why do you feel they can't both represent all shooters AND run Bisley?
I pay my NRA subs because I want to hope they will represent all shooters up and down the country. If they aren't going to do that then my cash will be better used elsewhere.

Unrelated to the topic but in defence of the NRA, without them SIlverstone Shooting Centre would not exist, they have been tremendously supportive of what we have done here for the one single reason - it expands the number of places people can shoot which is their mandate.
