If you've got a weird sense of humour, you'll probably get on well with CSR

Really, is there a bit of banter then? Do you shoot CSR yourself?
Forgive me if I'm barking up the wrong tree here and please don't take this the wrong way, but you're sounding a little bit troll-like???

What do you want to know about CSR?

Sorry pal, I'm not with you. What does sounding troll like mean? Are you insulting me? I'm not quite sure why you would, unless I have offended you, in which case sorry.

No, I'm not insulting you and I clearly said "please don't take this the wrong way"!
If you're that sensitive, I don't think you'll like CSR at all!

No, I'm not sensitive mate, I just didn't really understand what you meant. I've had a quick Google and it looks like you think I'm trying to get a rise on purpose. Not really sure why anybody would bother doing that, but I am just here because I had a go with a full-bore rifle, enjoyed it and fancy getting into some competitive shooting.
I shoot gallery rifle competitively and really enjoy it, but fancy stretching the range a bit. If my lack of knowledge and number of questions offends you then I'm sorry, I thougt thats what forums were for. Admittedly this is the first forum I have been on, so maybe I am completely wrong on that.

Thanks for the reply. I have done some searching and now know what it is, but really I need to know how I get involved. Obviously I would need a rifle, but other than that can I just turn up and shoot?
Cheers, Ben

Simple - go the NRA website:
http://www.nra.org.uk/common/asp/calend ... &type=comp
All the contacts are there. You can also view the courses of fire for the matches and there is information for the different classes you can enter.
You can turn up to watch and meet the guys who run/shoot the matches; but before you can shoot a CSR match, you will need a suitable fullbore rifle with a ten round mag, ammo etc and a safe shooter card (issued by either the NRA or your club that covers you for the class you wish to shoot) that allows you to shoot at Bisley
I would also recommend a decent set of boots and some waterproofs because Century range is a quagmire at the best of times.
When you actually shoot a match, make sure the organisers are aware that it's your first match, that way they will squad you up with someone who can help you.

That's really helpful, thanks. smile2
I need to work on getting a rifle, and from the looks of my shooters card I need to get some bits added to that too. In the meantime I may come down to a match to see what it's all about and say hi.
Thanks again pal.

Then get yourself a 6.5 Grendel,

1000yds no problem.

UKYankee wrote:Loving the sound of that .22 and have to agree with you about Paul. Depending on where you are in Worcestershire there's a great club in Worcester Norton that caters for almost everything; rimfire, centerfire, full bore, shotgun pit for PSG, etc... Link for their website is below:
http://www.wnsc.co.uk/
Come along one Sunday morning and have a look around; they have great bacon and fried egg sandwiches as well

Hi UKYankee, I contacted norton rifle club and thats a no, no, for at least 6/7 months, they reckon they have a backlog of upto 50 wannabe members and have been advised to contact then, if still intrested...
