Re: I HATE straight-pull.

I have used several SP rifles never found it a problem cycling the action when laying prone, had SGC AR15's FN Fal + others. Currently Ruger Mini 30 & K31 and a Suffolk Rifles L1A1 on order after the other makers rifle was sh** and went back.
Anyone on here ordered one of the next batch of L1's or the M1 Garands that are being offered as SP.

Imagine sending your SP off to get proper gas parts fitted and coming back all semi-auto. Moist with anticipation! ;)

Yes please! would it actually be possible to that, i imagine, the following would have to happen (just thinking through my AR here...):
-gas port in the barrel
-gas tube/ function piston depending on firearm type/ model
-Amends to the carrier group

Anything else anyone can think of?
Gas port, block, tube and rings.

That's it.

Some already have the rings, if not, should have, as they keep the bolt centred in the carrier.

Some already have a gas block (fixed front sights)

So, in reality, you may need as little as a 0.82" drill, and gas tube.

Considering Ryan killed his victims on average every 16 minutes (IIRC), the mind boggles as to why HMG thought a semi-auto ban would be necessary or even effective.

Ah yes, but you are making the big mistake of thinking Government policy has anything to do with reality!!!!

deranged lunatic Ryan murderers innocent people with an AK = General pubic scream ban the AK = AK and all full bore Semi Autos banned = Happy (reassured) public = Re-election

That's how Government's work!

Me too.
I don't have any problems with extraction!
Me neither.

The problem isn't extraction - it's having to rack the damn things! Particularly in prone, it's a ball ache.

yer its an arse hole and serves no public safety ! the sheeple watch flims and belive all the hollywood bullshit when it comes to firearms; one them being the faster the gun fires everyone dies !

Nope. I refuse to butcher further an already butchered firearm. Semi-auto is the way forward.

im suprised the MOD hasnt kicked off as these rifles (even if its straight pull) are current military issue and are built to same spec.

Probably because many other common bolt actions are more accurate.
