I'm pretty sure they still offer it, after all the only difference between a .308 and a .260 is a new barrel. Do you reload?

I'm waiting for a reply and yes mate, currently I reload for my Lee Enfield .303, Parker Hale T4 and Rossi 38/357

OK, just so you're aware you can't buy match .260 ammo to the best of my knowledge, but if you reload then it's not a problem.

Cheers H.
I plan to get some 260 brass and reload for it. I have a speers no. 14 manual that I will work up my loads from.

Sounds like a plan. :good:

42gr N560, fire-formed Lapua .260 brass, 139 scenars and 2.795 COAL should put you in to the .25 MOA > .5 MOA bracket.

WOW, Thank you Halodin,

According to the up-to-date reloading data on Vihtavouri web site, 42gr N560 is the recommended starting charge for that type and weight of bullet, so I should be ok to jump right in with it.

So are you dead-set on the AI-AT in .260? I love mine TBH, I'm very pleased with it, although I haven't used it much since it arrived. I bought the hornady OAL gauge, but I haven't used it yet. I suspect I can improve on that COAL. The bottom image is roughly what you'll get, 7 of those shots are .25 moa, whether the others were me or my loads I'm not sure yet, but you can't complain too much.

Very nice, I would be happy with that.

I very much like military style rifles. I have a beautiful Lee Enfield .303 and a Parker Hale T4 7.62 and I used to have a lovely AR15 in.22lr which I very much regret selling. So, I would like to compliment my other rifles with a current military style. As I want to shoot 1000 -1500 meters I want it to be accurate, so With that in mind an AR style rifle would be lovely but obviously not the best choice for the intended purpose.

Initially I was going to buy a .338 and that's where AI came in, when I found their lovely (to me anyway) AXMC which would have given me both a calibre for long distance and also would have replaced my PH T4. However, having researched the .338 caliber, it seems too restrictive (limited ranges) too expensive and there seems to be quite a palaver involved with shooting HME.

Having decided .338 is not really viable, I started looking at .260 Remington or 6.5x55 both of which seem to do well at the distances I want to shoot. The trouble is, I can't find a rifle in the style I would like, so the AI is the natural choice. I haven't had a reply from Adam yet but I'm hoping they can supply the AXMC in .308 with a .260Rem conversion. If they can't I don't know which way I'll go.
All the best
Bob

Military rifles are a curse I suffer from as well, hence my cabinet has an IMBEL FAL, an M14 EBR, an SMLE and an AR15 in it as well. Everyone has their cross to bear... :D

I agree, .338 is a specialist caliber IMO. There's an AI-AX in .260 for sale here if Adam doesn't pull through for you.

Now that would fit the bill very nicely, but at £3,300 and 1/4 of its barrel life gone, it's probably as much as a new one would cost me. If he wasn't asking so much I'd be very interested.
