My SVD is the one rifle I will not sell (and possibly the SKS), I'd rather shave my eyeballs, and I don't think you would regret getting one especially if used at somewhere like Sennybridge for the type of shooting it was designed for.On F Range at Sennybridge it is in it's element.

Thats a very tidy reloading table & a nice looking SVD was the number on the wood when you bought it, or have you applied.

What bullet weight do you use in your 54r reloads, I can't find any 150gr although PPU do them but Kranks have no plans to import them....any ideas.

Thanks mate, a bit obsessive when it comes to keeping work areas tidy :good:

The marking (L-3 in English) was already on this particular stock when I got it and it is a Soviet armoury rack number.

To be honest all my 54r reloading has been done with pulled milsurp bullets, those being 150gr Russian "L" flat-base lead core, 150gr Russian "LPS" boat tail steel-core and 180gr Egyptian lead-core.I aquired around 500 of them, and primed cases, so it would be rude not to use them.

The weight of the Russian bullets are very consistent with less than 1gr variation across a batch of twenty, the inconsistency of the powder charge is the main cause of the variation in accuracy with 54r milsurp from what I can work out as the variation across twenty rounds I pulled was around 1.5-2.0gr.

With a bit of load development I have got two loads worked out using the Russian "L" and "LPS" bullets that pretty much match the ballistics of 7n1 sniper grade ammo and as near as damn it match the BDC turret on my PSO-1 scope.

I50gr PPU available here and they ship to the UK.....
