Heard yesterday that Police Scotland are looking to bring to an end, RFDs for those who don't operate from a "store front".....

That sounds a bit harsh if they did consider targeting full time RFD businesses without a shop front, there are many engineering based RFD's around who work from behind closed doors. We are a perfect example in that we only accept customers if we know they notify us in advance and we certainly do not have shelves full of retail products nor do we have our business name on the door.
Maybe they are trying to weed out the part time types who use the RFD as a means of a chance to buy reloading consumables a bit cheaper.

I can't see how they can to be honest. Surely on renewal an RFD would have to illustrate continuous business, so to then take that away would open a whole can of worms...
Spiteful single issue politics using the police to implement, is an outrage!

WHY???? Any reason apart from NONE!
Well they get all RFD's into retail sites, then the council withdraws permission for them to operate..job done! No one to stand up fpr them is there.

Lack of trade is not a reason to revoke registration or deny renewal. Could just be a bad year...

this is written up in this months tackle and guns magazine
its gun retailers in Scotland who are calling for it
making it soulnd like the RFD's are selling to all and sundry in the street,
financially motivated.
