Ginger wrote:So what you are complaining about has been moved to a new forum, yet you are still bitching!

This is a fantastic example of small minded people splitting a sport / team / club into silly little factions.

Why not from the top down drop this, either work to support the sport which already has enough critics or leave / shutdown the forum?

Im not bitching about any thing I am replying to a comment posted by some one else who seems to think I give a toss about a new forum covering what ever all the fuss is about.
So if you don't give a toss, one way or the other, why bother commenting at all?
This thread is so ridicules I refuse to have any thing more to do with it. If you have another forum that caters for your needs why are you still bleating on about it here. Go spend your time posting on this other forum.

Not really Dell, it just shows a rather lame belief in strength in numbers and a bit of naivety mate.

There are several problems with shooters and particularly shooters on forums Dell. Someone recently said that shooters are by and large stupid. I thought that was a bit strong but in some cases its worryingly quite accurate.

Firstly, many disciples of disciplines believe they are safe in numbers....trust me you aint. It makes no difference to the public, a guns a gun. You only have to look at some of the reports that come in to know that by and large, they know diddly and care even less, and they outnumber us. This is why we need to support the NRA, NSRA, BASC etc.

Secondly there is a propensity to gob off on a forum (where people think they are safe and isolated....bit like some t*@t cutting you up in a car) and say stupid stuff that cant be taken back, is public, and generally you have no idea how some are likely to take it or do with the info posted. Been there done it, apologized.....and still actively seeking offenders ;)

And finally if the idea is to divide and conquer, not really. As has been pointed out we are all shooters. I have my likes and dislikes, but I have never interfered with others quietly (?) enjoying their sport which is more than can be said for some. Sure I have taken the p***, its called banter.

It was telling the reactions from some areas when the pistol ban was initiated.

When "Some" are bitching about this and that, remember that regardless of how important you may think your discipline is to shooting, you wont do it alone. The NSC for example is open throughout the year. Some barely go near it unless it is flat calm and sunny, but some of us keep the place making a profit throughout the year either during comps or just regular use. Think on that the next time you start bleating on about what you cannot do, what the NRA etc has not done for you, what you dont agree with, or are just plain ignorant about. If it don't float your boat either live and let live or take a look, god knows you might actually learn something, but you wont gain support from elsewhere by making enemies (some of whom are more influential than you might think).

There have been more than enough complaints about activities I have been part of by some of these "Concerned bystanders", all of which have been greeted by the range office along the lines of...."Yes we know, they are authorized to do that". One Idiot wasted an entire morning watching the 100 point from 200 with binos....not very subtle and bordering on obsessive kukkuk One lot even complained with the director of shooting being present on the firing point with us. Outstanding.

This sort of activity breeds inter discipline aggro, distrust, and resentment which is understandable.

Support each other, keep positive and enjoy your shooting. Whatever form it takes :good:

Check out my previous post I try everything if given the chance and fancy it but i wont slagg something off just because it doesnt float my boat .Sadly the shooting comunity is its own worsed enemy with its bitching from game shooters about target shooters ,target shooters against game shooters ,practical shooters looked down on by taget shooters blah blah blah .One of the clubs i belong to will not affiliate with the NRA because of the pistol ban meaning 50 members dont get the chance to use Bisley ffs .Some times i wonder what makes these people tick ......

Why is that funny?, it's still early days yet.

Nice SU-27 Flanker avatar by the way.......though shame it's Ukrainian.
Photo taken at RIAT 2017, the flying display was noisy and impressive. I shot some videos of it.

When I was reading Turgenev (or maybe Gogol or was it Puskin?) the Ukraine was referred to as "little Russia".

Gents, like Par...para,,parab..aw fek it! Maggot said, we are all in this together and all this sniping at each other isn't helping anybody, the original thread was blown out of recognition by people stubbornly putting there point forward and not taking a hint (on both sides of the argument) there was never really a need for a dedicated section or for a seperate forum,
however in this day and age another forum isn't a bad thing per se, as long as the members of it don't stew in their own juices in resentment to the original forum (been there, seen that, it didn't end particularly well )
a focused forum is a fine thing although it has to work hard to keep peoples attention.
having a sub-forum for a specialised interest would have many positive benefits, however trying to stuff it down admins throat isn't the way to get it, lines have been drawn and no-one wants to be the first to back down, I understand that, but eventually its going to sort itself out and having a hissy bitch-fight every time someone says the wrong thing isn't helping speed things along!
and deliberatly pouring petrol on the flames as has been done by both sides isn't helping either! how about everyone agree to live and let live?

or I can get get my assault keyboard out and start posting some seriously long posts ? teanews
