Nevertheless, the right to bear arms in the US is subject to licensing regulations, but it is accepted that they do not infringe the Second Amendment because the regulation of a right is not necessarily equivalent to infringing the right.
I think the same applies in the UK because the Bill of Rights is still in force, but our governments have been allowed to be more aggressive in their regulation of our rights.

Ref the USA thing: here's the maths...Facts do show that gun crime (although no gun has ever committed a crime) is down.

Not my words Chuck. It's the view of "legal scholars" in the US (whatever they are).
