My M14 arrived today and I put about 30 rounds through it tonight, I LOVE IT! It's the rifle I always hoped my SMLE would be, I'm very pleased and with GGG no extraction issues at all. :shakeshout:

I just need to find a castle nut spanner so I can fit my EBR stock, which I have to say is a bit of a pain, because you have to strip the gas system off the rifle to fit it. Does anyone know [where|if] you can buy them in the UK? MidwayUK do them, but they're £30-£35... sign01

Cheers,

Craig.

An M14 is on my list of many rifles I would like, just a thought on the mags, I got the mags for my M1 Carbine from the War and Peace show, second hand and used but they look the part. Ended up buying 6 for £30 and they all work ok. MAybe a thought as a lot of trade there sell de-acts and bits and pieces.

The LDT mags are ever so slightly different, but that's a good idea for hunting down some more FAL mags. Thanks.

Cheers,

Craig.

Ah so they are the same mags as a FAL L1A1 SLR or whatever the correct term is.

Sorry I meant the Springfield M14 mags and the LuxDefTec (LDT rifle below) M14 mags are slightly different, the feed lips aren't exactly the same, but going to the War & Peace show is a good idea, because I might find mags for my Imbel FAL.

Cheers,

Craig.

Very Nice, like them both and both are on my list as is a Garand. I see the M14 seems to have a parkerized finish, the same as my Romanian AKM. Had to get some metalwork done to the same finish and not many people knew what that was or could do it.

I love both rifles, I'm really pleased with them, although I think the M14 is slightly edging ahead... bangbang

Chris at G&G Antique Firearms do it if you get caught short. I've just had some mags plated, they look nice. Like a battleship grey.
