FCSA are not throwing MARS or anything else to the wolves but cannot credibly represent ALL disciplines and speciality firearms from a position of specific expertise.
There is a big difference between not being properly qualified and not being interested.
If FCSA can stop this consultation from passing adverse legislation then it will help EVERYONE.
I have just donated £100 to the fighting fund set up by Chris Stevenson .....FCSA chairman.... to help cover legal expenses to fight this.
I doubt that NRA or BACS will stand up for us and I am not going to renew memberships if that is the case.
If anyone wants the BACS details for the fighting fubd then I can forward this......it might be 50 cal on point but we are all in the firing line.....I don't have a 50 by the way!
Please pm me, I will bung in a few quid.
On the other matter,
The only thing worse than having ineffective national shooting associations is not having any altogether, rather than darkly promising each other that we will never give another penny to the NRA, BASC, etc, why not write to them directly as many have done to their MPs?
I have written to BASC and the NRA with my expectations and it would help if anyone who was a member did likewise.

I have fed back to the NRA for years unfortunately with no effect, but it hasn't stopped me.
One must do ones duty.

!
Your missing the point, I'm not saying they are purposely throwing anyone to the wolves. but push comes to shove and they will take it for themselves. Don't try and tell me that there club members only shoot .50cal
We are all in this together, what specific expertise do you need to realise the same issues they are having represent all gun owners and users.
This won't stop with theses specific firearms, I guess we can just wait until next time and have another 65 page rant.
None of the bigger organisations are backing this properly , time for a change me thinks

Dorset shooter....you are dead right ..we are all in this together.....at least 50% -75% of FCSA do not shoot 50 cals.
I will probably ask Chris Stevenson to post his fighting fund email on here to demonstrate its not me scamming for cash!

Response to query to BSSC:
"The BSSC is indeed co-ordinating a response, and will be discussing it at a meeting on the 23rd November".
Better late than never I suppose, assuming anything actually comes out of the meeting!!

"Co-ordinating a response"
Good starting point but what is their plan of action if the HO rejects the response?
What are their deadlines, Who are they co-ordinating with? Definitely not gun owners.
I have to say if these organisations cannot communicate with their own stakeholders, i.e us, then I doubt their communication skills when it comes to communicating with the HO.
