Grizzly- I assume there is a very limited market in the states for a straight pull AR, so how did you go about getting a straight pull upper and bolt sent over? Was that custom request from the manufacturer?
I didn't, I sourced and imported all the parts listed and built from the ground up.
Isn't that alextwogun's gun? Where did he go then? Is that one of them?
It is Alex's gun it's the exact same build spec that was posted on csr shooter and other forums.

No longer listed as a member and I can't find the original thread about his build.

Doesn't it only need to be proofed if Alex intends to sell it?

Chapter 24 of the HO Guidance covers proof of firearms and states:
24.3 The proving of firearms is governed by the Gun Barrel Proof Acts of 1868, 1950 and 1978 (However, note that much of the 1950 Act was repealed in 1996 by SI 1996/1576).
Under these Acts it is:
(a) an offence to sell, exchange, expose or keep for sale, or export, or keep for exportation, or to attempt to sell, exchange or export, or to pawn or pledge, or attempt to pawn or pledge, or to take in pawn or pledge, an arm, the barrels of which are not duly proved and marked as proved (section 108 and 109 of the 1868 Act);
(b) an offence to import into the United Kingdom small arms, the barrels of which are not duly proved and marked as proved, without giving notice in writing within seven days to either the London or Birmingham Proof House or to send such imported arms, within twenty-eight days of their arrival in the United Kingdom, to be proved at either the London or Birmingham Proof House (Section 122 of the 1868 Act).
This does not apply to any small arm imported by any person for their own personal use whilst it is in their possession. In such a case, the proof is the responsibility of the possessor.

It needs to be proofed if you use an RFD to accept and then pass on to you imported pressure bearing parts.

If comes direct to you for your own personal use then as above it does not need to be proofed, use a 3rd party and it does.

I think I'm going to order a lantac tcr,, I did try to speak to Bradley arms but he doesn't seem that 'bothered about business'.

No doubt when I get on the phone I'll spend a lot more than I intended....
